A bed time story....

...tonight as Joaquin was going to sleep, he put his head on my shoulder and while patting my arm said "Hi Mama" in his sweet voice. Aaah my baby! Cue heart eyes.

2009!

Can you believe it is 2009 already and we have a new President? Whoo-hoo!!

Sadly, it has been a long time since I have been on our blog. I am not sure if anyone still even looks on here, but I thought I would give some updates just in case...

Joaquin had his well baby appointment yesterday and he is 21.5 lbs (20th percentile) and 32.25 inches (75th percentile). So he is tall and skinny. The kid eats like a maniac, but never stops playing and running so no wonder he doesn't gain any weight. He did get 3 shots in the leg and for the rest of the day he kept grabbing his leg saying "owie"! So sad, but so cute! The doc said he was perfect...um...tell me something I don't know ;)



He is really starting to talk now. He can say please, thank you, ball, Margie, the list goes on, and yesterday was working hard on saying Uncle Jason. And boy does he have a temper-he wants what he wants when he wants it! He will hold up a finger and tell you he is one. He can find his nose, eyes, mouth, and of course Lolo's belly (Nino's dad).



We went to Tahoe for Thanksgiving which was lots of fun and stayed home for Christmas. Joaquin was spoiled again and had fun opening presents with all his cousins.

Trying to keep up!

Well, we are now 13 months old and I figure it is time to do a little update for the few who still keep up with the blog. As you can see he is 13 months going on 13 years! He was doing some work on his Elmo laptop and having a little snack at the same time.

He has gone straight from crawling to running! There is no stopping him now and he is in to everything. Here is a taste of what some mornings are like...I found one of socks in Margie's water bowl, I later found his baseball bat in the garbage, I also found his books in the washing machine, and later found my other sock stuffed into one of our Halloween decorations...mind you this is all in one morning!

He can say Mama and Dada but still not sure if he knows what they really mean. He can say "up" when he sees an airplane though...uh oh...looks like he is on his way to being an aerospace geek like his Dad afterall. They also have something else in common....



And for some past updates his first birthday was a hit. We had a great turn out and he made it through with no meltdowns! He even got his own birthday cake and did some damage!

His one year appointment was good too! He is 75% in height and 25% in weight. The doc says he looks good and is healthy.

Nino had a birthday too...poor guy gets a bit neglected...but we did manage to have a bbq, some poker, and some fun.
